Allen Philharmonic Orchestra
and Symphony Chorus
Ryan Ross, Conductor and Music Director
Our Story
The Allen Philharmonic Orchestra & Symphony Chorus traces its roots back to October 1997 and April 1998, when the North Texas Philharmonic delighted the growing Allen community with its first orchestral performances. What began as a volunteer ensemble - passing the hat to cover travel and equipment costs - has since grown into a vibrant professional orchestra at the heart of Allen’s cultural landscape.
Today, the Allen Philharmonic is composed of accomplished area musicians, many of whom are full-time freelance performers or music educators in local school districts. Their exceptional talent and dedication allow the orchestra to craft dynamic concert programs that both entertain audiences and provide meaningful artistic challenges for the performers.
The Allen Philharmonic presents an annual concert series, engages in community outreach, and leads impactful youth education initiatives. We invite you to join us at one of our performances and experience the music that brings our community together.
