Allen Symphony Chorus
..........

The Allen Symphony Chorus, an affiliate of the Allen Philharmonic in Allen, Texas, is an auditioned community ensemble open to singers of all ages and experience levels. We perform a wide range of choral repertoire—from classical masterworks through pops and holiday—with a commitment to musical excellence and community connection. Through each rehearsal and performance, we aim to create meaningful musical experiences that inspire, uplift, and bring people together.
The chorus presents its own independent series of concerts throughout the year, but will also perform with the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra on occasion. In recent seasons, collaborations with the orchestra have included Orff's Carmina Burana, the Durufle Requiem, Christopher Tin’s Calling All Dawns, numerous Cultural Connections programs, and other programming.
Rehearsals are held Monday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. at a location in Allen, TX. When we are performing with the orchestra, there are additional required rehearsals during concert week with the orchestra.
We are recruiting voices in all vocal ranges and would be thrilled to have you join us. You do not have to be a citizen of Allen to be a member of the Allen Symphony Chorus.
If you would like to become a member, please send us an email at office@allenphilharmonic.org. A casual audition is required to join the chorus. This includes a prepared song and vocalization.
The season for the chorus runs approximately September through April. Semester dues are $75 ($150 for the season) and help to cover accompanist fees, rehearsal and performance venue expenses, sheet music, etc... Please know that the majority of choral expenses are subsidized by the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra, but the dues help to offset some of those expenses.
