Rupasri Shankar 

 

Rupasri Shankar is a Carnatic Vocalist from Dallas, Texas. Her initial tutoring was under Smt. Deepa Srinivasan, a senior disciple of the late Sri T.K Govindarao, and she is now undergoing advanced training under Vidushi Vani Ramamurthi.  

 

Rupasri has performed at the DFW Purandaradasa Aradhana, the Institute of Global Music and Arts - Frisco, Kalamudrika, DFW Hanuman Temple, and several other local venues. Outside of Dallas and virtually, Rupasri has performed at various organizations of repute such as Naadabramha Sangeetha Sabha, Gokhale Institute, Avadootha Dattapeetam Ashram of Sri Ganapathy Sachidananda Swamiji in Mysore, Paravur Dakshina Mookambika Saraswathi Mandapam, Mani Krishnaswamy Academy, Suswara, Kala Prashala, Swara Mohini, and Gayatri Fine Arts Global.

 

She was the musical director for Hum a Cappella, a collegiate vocal group at UT Austin, and has collaborated in several orchestral projects with stalwarts such as Smt. Lalgudi Viji and Kanniks Kannikeshwaran.

 

Rupasri is a graduate in business administration and currently works as a technology consultant at Deloitte.
