
ABOUT US
Founded in 1998, the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra & Symphony Chorus consists of a professional philharmonic orchestra and a community based symphony chorus. We are a 501(c) 3, non-profit organization, funded by corporate and individual donations, civic grants, the City of Allen, and the Allen Arts Alliance.
Our mission is to enhance our community’s rich culture, foster a community-wide appreciation for music, and support local businesses in our community.
We offer the following events and activities to provide the best musical opportunities possible in our community:

Support the Allen Folk Music Society.

Support Guitars for Veterans

Present the Harvey Phillips Foundation’s Allen Tuba Christmas at Watters Creek

Present the Allen ISD Fourth Grade Youth Concert at the Allen ISD Performing Arts Center

Partner with area school districts to provide clinicians and master classes as districts prepare for UIL competitions

Collaborate with the Allen Civic Ballet to perform The Nutcracker. It is one of few in the DFW metroplex with a live orchestra

Provide students in seventh grade and up volunteer opportunities to earn service hours for school/scout/church community programs

Partner with the Allen Public Library to present Concerts for Young Audiences, with themes from the annual ALLen Reads Book selections.
